Under Craig Mundie’s leadership, ACT had purchased Softimage, the company whose software for Silicon Graphics workstations had been used to animate the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. When Softimage balked at porting their application to Windows NT, Microsoft funded a Redmond-based team to do the port for them.
